The Meeting Minutes for April 2019 were read and approved

A motion was made to update our bank signature cards with the current officers and was passed.

Guest Speakers

Were Bro. Ivan De Herrera Jr., Bro .Eric Delgado and Bro. Jamie Sanchez.

Bro. Ivan de Herrera Jr., talked about a program of  Brothers/Sisters Helping Brothers/Sisters they will be hosting a BBQ at the VFW lodge to help out. He also talked about IBEW Reunion on Fathers Day Weekend at Loretta Lynn’s Ranch in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee 37078. For additional information contact Ivan.

Bro. Eric Delgado, talked about the work picture and if we know anybody who wants to become a union electrician now is the time for them to act.

Bro Jamie Sanchez talked about Construction Worker (CW) and Construction Electrician (CE) and how these new members and classifications are helping grow the union and their relationship to the union.

Picnic

The date for this year’s picnic is September 28, 2019 from 10:00 AM to 4:00PM at Hollywood Sports Park 9030 Somerset Blvd., Bellflower, Ca. 90706. The cost of the tickets will still remain the same: Adults $12 and $8 for children 12 years of age and under. Adult beverages can be purchased (no outside beverages allowed). Bingo will be located indoors with A/C for those who play to enjoy the game. All tickets will be sold on the day of the event! No pre-sale

If you have a few minutes at the picnic, the club would love your help staffing our booth. We will be hosting a 50/50 raffle and selling some of the remaining retirees T-shirts we have.

50 Year Pin

At the Retirees’ Club Summer Luncheon on June 12, Joe Zamora will be presented his 50 year pin by our Business Manager Joel Barton. Come and meet our new Business Manager and celebrate with Joe on his 50 years of service in the I.B.E.W.

Misc.

The club asked for help putting on our monthly lunches and to keep the cost between $75.00 and $90.00 to include the cost of donuts. Butch Bachand  provide the May luncheon for us. Thanks Butch it was an excellent lunch.

The 50/50 Raffle split three ways Allen Wheeler won both drawings. The other third goes to the club.
