District 6 January Report

Greetings from District 6

I want to start off by wishing all of you a happy and prosperous new year. We have multiple projects coming up here in D6 that are long term. The Foothill Gold Line to Pomona, and maybe to Montclair. From Glendora to Pomona, construction gets underway this August and is anticipated to complete in 2025. Metro and the Foothill Gold Line Construction Authority have until 2021 to secure additional funding to activate an additional portion of the contract to extend the line to Montclair. Also, NLMUSD is starting to pick up with an active Norwalk High School athletic field and stadium project, and soon to come La Mirada High School Football Stadium. Just a reminder with this being an election year (locally and nationally) we need to make sure that we vote in labor friendly candidates that serve our union’s interest. We will be walking precincts and I will be reaching out for your help. In closing, I want to leave you with this quote.
